How To Crochet ‘Nino’ Collar / Lace Collar

crochet 1

Hello everyone! Who loves to wear, present, crochet collars – I invite you. Let’s crochet this model which is named Nina, but for some reason I want to name it Nino  I will work with Mondial NILO 16 yarn 100g/900m, but I will knit in 2! threads, hook 1.5. We will knit collar Nino according to this pattern How to calculate the number of chains we need for the inside of the collar? I do as follows: I just knit chain not counting and I try it on the neck – what length I need. If there is already enough, I count the number of loops and it should be multiple to 6, that is, divided by 6. (VIDEO TUTORIAL AT THE END OF THE POST)

If your chain is larger or smaller, then, accordingly, you need to add or dissolve this chain so that the number id divided by 6. For my collar I will chain 180 chain is ready, I got 180 loops – this is approximately 51 cm. This is enough for my neck. Now I chain 8 more: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 and in the 9th loop from the hook, we knit a double crochet 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 – in the 9th chain loop and we have a cell.

Next, chain 2, a double crochet into the third chain – 2 cells. Chain 2, a double crochet in the third loop and so we continue to knit cells to the end of the chain. We should have 31 cells. I should have Okay, I’m finishing It remains to knit the last cell: chain 2 and a double crochet into the 3d (last) chain That is. I got 31 cells. 2nd row. Chain 3, turn the work, chain 4: 1, 2, 3, 4 and skip 1 cell – in the 2nd – we knit 4 double crochet: 1, 2, 3, 4, chain 5: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and skipping 1 cell – in the 2nd – we knit 4 double crochet: 1, 2, 3, 4 and so we alternate 4 double crochet and chain 5, 4 double crochet, chain 5 to end of row

We only chain 4 in the beginning and at the end of the row.

  • So, continue to knit further.
  • I finish the 2nd row:
  • chain 5, 4 double crochet into the penultimate cell,
  • chain 4 and a double crochet in the 3rd loop:
  • 1, 2, 3.
  • That’s it, the 2nd row is ready.
  • Starting the 3rd row.
  • chain 3:
  • 1, 2, 3.
  • One more chain, turn the work
  • and here in the base we knit 2 double crochet columns:

The result is a double crochet, chain 1 and 2 double crochet. Now, chain 2: 1, 2, a single crochet in the center of this group of 4 double crochet, chain 2 and under the chain we knit a fan of 2 double crochet, chain 2 and 2 double crochet.

And so we continue on the 3rd row:

  • chain 2, in the center of the group we knit a single crochet,
  • chain 2, fan under a chain or in a third chain loop,
  • as you wish,
  • a fan of 2 double crochet, chain 2
  • and 2 double crochet
  • And we repeat: chain 2, a single crochet in the middle of the group,
  • chain 2 and then a fan. And so we continue to the end of the row.
  • Finishing the 3rd row:
  • chain 2, a single crochet
  • in the middle of a group of previous row,
  • chain 2 and after 4 loops we knit 2 double crochet,
  • chain 1 and a double crochet.

The 4th row Chain 3, turn the work and 2 double crochet under a chain of 1, then we knit in the same way as we did in the 2nd row: chain 5, in a fan under a chain of 2 we knit 4 double crochet: 1, 2, 3, 4, chain 5 and 4 double crochet into the next fan – under a chain of 2: 1 column, 2, 3, 4 and so we alternate: a chain of 5 and a group of 4 double crochet in a fan under the chain. I’m finishing 4th row I knitted 4 double crochet under 2 loops, I chain 5 and 2 double crochet under chain 1: 1, 2 and a double crochet into the 3d loop. Finished the 4th row

  • Chain 3, turn the work
  • and under the chain we knit a fan:
  • 2 double crochet, chain 2
  • and 2 double crochet,
  • chain 2, single crochet into the middle of 4 double crochet,
  • chain 2, fan into the next chain,
  • that is, 2 double crochet, chain 2 and
  • 2 double crochet,
  • chain 2, a single crochet into the middle of the group,
  • chain 2, fan
  • and so we continue until the end of this 5th row

Finishing the 5th row:

  • a single crochet into the center of these double crochet of the previous row,
  • chain 2, fan under a chain of 5:
  • 2 double crochet, chain 2 and 2 double crochet
  • and chain 2, a double crochet into the 3rd loop
  • We finished the 5th row, starting the 6th.
  • Chain 4 – this will be a treble crochet,
  • then chain 3, turn the work
  • and in a fan under a chain of 2 we knit 4 double crochet.
  • And then we continue: chain 5,
  • 4 double crochet in the next fan under 2 chains,
  • chain 5,

4 double crochet into the next 2 chains of the fan and so we knit to the end of the row. Finishing the 6th row:

  • chain 5,
  • in a fan under a chain I knit 4 double crochet,
  • chain 3 and a treble crochet,
  • here we have a chain of 3 –
  • into the very first chain of this chain
  • we knit a treble crochet.

The 7th row

  • Chain 3,
  • 1 more chain (which will be in the middle of our half-fan)
  • and at the base, here, we knit 2 more double crochet:
  • 1,2,
  • chain 2 and here again – in the middle we knit a single crochet,
  • chain 2,
  • a fan under a chain of 5:
  • 2 double crochet, chain 2 and 2 double crochet,
  • chain 2, single crochet into the second stitch,
  • chain 2 and again a fan.
  • So we knit to the end of the row, here
  • there is nothing new in this series, we already knitted this.

Finishing the 7th row:

  • chain 2, single crochet into the 2nd stitch,
  • chain 2, 2 double crochet
  • into the third loop: 1st double crochet…, that is, we knit an incomplete fan.
  • 2 double crochet, chain 1 and a double crochet.
  • Finished row 7

The final 8th row: chain 3, turn the work and knit under chain of 1 3 double crochet:1, 2, 3. chain 3, single crochet into single crochet of the previous row – we will have such a semicircle, chain 3, under fan’s chain we knit 5 double crochet: 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, chain 3, single crochet into the single crochet of the previous row – we get such semicircular shuttlecocks and again we repeat: chain 3, 5 double crochet in a fan under a chain of 2, chain 3, single crochet and so we continue to the end of the row.

Finishing the 8th row:

  • chain 3 and under a chain of 1 we knit 3 double crochet
  • and knit the fourth double crochet into the 3rd loop.
  • That’s it…
  • To give the collar a more perfect look, I suggest
  • to add 1 more row of single crochet inside the collar:
  • chain 1,
  • 2 single crochet under the double crochet of the previous row,
  • 2 single crochet under the following chain:
  • … 2nd single crochet under this chain,
  • knit under the next chain
  • 3 single crochets, because there was a treble crochet,
  • a single crochet under the next chain …

There is, in principle, no such clear system, just look: where is a chain of 3 or a double crochet we knit 2 single crochet … we knit these single crochet according to the picture. There should not be too many of these single crochet. We got to the cells. I propose to knit 3 single crochet under each cell. Since this is a corner, I will knit one more single crochet and now we knit 3 single crochets in each cell

So we knit to the last cell

  • I reached the last cell: 3 single crochet,
  • single crochet, which is in the corner, turn the work and knit 2 single crochet.
  • Then, under each chain of 3 we knit 2 single crochet,
  • there is also a single crochet into this connection, 2 single crochet under the chain…
  • we repeat in the same way logically
  • And the slip stitch, cut off the yarn.
  • The collar is almost ready. It remains to make a fastener and wash.
  • I won’t starch, just wash and block
  • like this

As for the fasteners: you can sew on a button and make a chain, you can also crochet a button and, for example, as in this version, sew on a hook, you can also just sew on the hook if you plan to wear collar like this. you can insert ribbons or chains of air loops into the cells, as here. This option has two advantages: firstly, it’s quick, you do not need to sew anything, and secondly, the length can be adjusted. I will sew hooks to the finished button. The best part is removing finished product. Collar “Nino” is ready!

I thank everyone for the company, I wish you pleasant crocheting and if you’d like a tutorial on other collar models, please let me know in messages.
