How to Crochet an Amigurumi Heart (Valentine’s Day Project)

BeFunky collage 53

Hello everyone, in today’s tutorial we make an amigurumi heart I show you all the rounds step by step and in particular how to join the 2 pieces so even if you are a beginner you can try to make this heart this is the heart I used for this year’s Valentine’s Day project.  We can use any type of regular yarn the size of the amigurumi changes as the thickness of the yarn and crochet we use changes this means that using the same pattern but with yarns and crochet hooks of different thicknesses we get hearts of different sizes in my channel you can find other 2 amigurumi hearts tutorials the mini amigurumi heart and the photo frame heart and the photo holder heart which is the largest.

Here you see it smaller because I used a thinner yarn,  to make this heart I used Drops Paris yarn and a 4mm crochet hook also we need:

  • a scissor
  • a wool needle
  • and wadding

We make a magic ring, round 1: 6sc (6), we close the ring, we weave the whole heart in a spiral rounds then mark the beginning of each round with a marker or a thread, round 2: 6inc (12) round 3: (1sc 1inc)x6 (18) round 4: (2sc 1inc)x6 (24) round 5: (3sc 1inc)x6 (30) round 6-8: 30sc (30) after weaving the 8 rounds ch1 to secure and we cut the yarn

Make another piece the same as the one we woven together but in this case, we don’t cut the yarn I show you how to join the 2 parts we approach the 2 pieces in this way approaching the end of rounds 8 we start weaving on the piece where we cut the yarn inserting the hook also in the stitch where we have woven the last sc of round 8 this is the last sc of round 8 and this is where we weaved it insert the hook and bring the yarn and we do the same in the next stitch and we complete the stitch.

This counts as 1st sc of the round 9, 1dec, 26sc, now we weave a stitch as at the beginning of the round insert the hook in the next stitch and bring the yarn and I also insert the hook in the point where I weaved the last stitch of round 8 of the other piece this is the last sc of round 8 of this piece which is where we did not cut the yarn in this stitch, we insert the hook and bring the yarm and we complete the stitch in this way the union of the 2 pieces is perfect these 2 particular stitches for which we also used the stitch where we had already woven

1 2

Make sure that no are formed in the union this stitch also counts as 1sc 1dec, 28sc with round 9 we joined the 2 parts in round 9 there are 58 stitches in total we put the marker at the beginning of the round

  • round 10: 1dec, 9sc, 1dec, 3sc, 1dec, 9sc, 2dec …
  • … 9sc, 1dec, 3sc, 1dec, 9sc, 1dec (50)
  • round 11: 1dec, 21sc, 2dec, 21sc, 1dec (46)
  • round 12: 1dec, 7sc, 1dec, 1sc, 1dec, 7sc …
  • … 2dec, 7sc, 1dec, 1sc, 1dec, 7sc, 1dec (38)
  • round 13: 1dec, 6sc, 1dec, 7sc, 2dec, 6sc, 1dec, 7sc, 1dec (32)
  • round 14: 1dec, 5sc, 1dec, 5sc, 2dec, 5sc, 1dec, 5sc, 1dec (26)

We stuff it with wadding

  • round 15: 5sc, 1dec, 11sc, 1dec, 6sc (24)
  • round 16: 5sc, 1dec, 10sc, 1dec, 5sc (22)
  • round 17: 5sc, 1dec, 9sc, 1dec, 4sc (20)
  • round 18: 4sc, 2dec, 6sc, 2dec, 2sc (16)

From here on we add wadding whenever needed

  • round 19: 3sc, 2dec, 4sc, 2dec, 1sc (12)
  • round 20: 2sc, 1dec, 4sc, 1dec, 2sc (10)
  • round 21: (1sc 2dec)x2 (6)

And we cut the yarn we still stuff if you are using a thin yarn to insert the cotton wool, use a thin object we close this hole with a wool nee.dle we make a knot and we hide it in the amigurumi and the amigurumi heart is ready this tutorial has come to an end, I hope you enjoyed it and will use it.
